Walker Diving
Walker Diving was recently hired by the State of Delaware to repair a select group of piles at Cape Henlopen State Park. The fishing pier at Cape Henlopen was constructed over sixty years ago. The wood piles have deteriorated in the tidal zone to fifty percent of their original diameter. Walker suggested using a pile repair system. First Walker Diving used a water jet to expose the sound piling below the sand line. Second the pile was cleaned. Third 3/8” rebar was attached to the pile. Forth a fiberglass jacket was attached around the pile and was sealed at the bottom. Last the jacket was filled with grout, then the top was sealed with epoxy. By utilizing this repair method the jacketed piles will provide many more years of service.
