Railroad Construction

Railroad Construction was awarded a fast-track NJDOT contract to replace the decking and pedestals of the heavily-traveled route 46 bridge over Overpeck Creek in Bergen County, NJ in the summer of 2005. Walker Diving's portion of the project involved mainly concrete spall repairs both above and below the water line, including four large areas which would support the new bridge support pedestals. Additional support provided by Walker Diving included underwater welding and anchoring to assist with the initial setup of the temporary bridge crane support system and above and below water crack injection for the existing concrete piers. Since this was a fast-track project, Railroad Construction relied on Walker’s flexibility and speed in working with various other subcontractors and a difficult schedule to allow for multiple phases of demolition and construction work.
